i go by she/they pronouns most of the time

personality

theoretically i'm an anarchist but i'm always too tired to actually do anything meaningful
i'm not very social and often get too confused/overwhelmed if i have to talk to someone i don't know already. sometimes i wonder if that's just because i haven't had a lot of practice, or if it's that i have a disorder of some sort, in which case what it is
related to above, i usually don't have a lot to say so my gemlog is probably intermittent

interests

i don't like computers but also spend most of my free time using/programming them
regarding above, i use various linux distros (void currently and gentoo previously) on my laptop and i run freebsd on a slow and creaky old computer as a server for mumble, dokuwiki and minecraft for friends
sometimes i do maths or linguistics related things but not in large quantities
i'm learning russian and french and am not very good at either, although i can speak toki pona (except for most nimi ku lili which i haven't bothered to learn)
music: i play some jazz piano, am currently learning to DJ (very fun) and also occasionally try to produce dance music but the hassle of bullying ableton into starting on wine is a lot and i can't be bothered to learn how to use lmms or whatever
i kinda want to get into art in some way but i don't really know where to start, sometimes i draw little pictures on random scraps of paper i found in my pocket (and then put them back in the pocket where they will inevitably get mangled in the wash)

Sometimes, I write in a formal style, especially in my open-source projects' READMEs and commit messages, or e-mail exchanges with unknown and/or Professional™ people. This is to ensure that I do not come across as immature or uneducated in situations where that might be otherwise assumed.
