Brief Review Earth Knoll

"A Brief History of Earth" by Andrew Knoll is a good summary; notable points include that Portuguese Man o' War are in one sense a colony, that Earth sent a hey! oxygen! signal out to the universe recently, and has a particular reflective signature due to visible radiation getting absorbed by the green stuff. And that land critters are a fairly new thing, 10% of Earth's history. Also interesting is the repeated emphasis on the interactions between the physical and biological processes. And a few other things to read up on, e.g.
