Saint Young Men is a slice of life manga about Jesus and Buddha taking a vacation together in Japan. They visit various landmarks and attractions in Japan, as well as meet up with their many disciples from the heavens. Saint Young Men by no means takes itself seriously. Jesus is sort of a hippie character, while Buddha is much more disciplined, regularly practicing his ascetic training. Jesus is usually found working on his blog or playing computer games, while Buddha is working on his own manga about one of his disciples. It is a gag manga, so there are many jokes. Some of the jokes may not make sense to the uninitiated Buddhists and Christians, so each chapter has footnotes at the end to explain any references. Overall, I can highly recommend Saint Young Men to any lovers of comedy and Japanese culture.
