Have you ever wanted to get into Fate, but did not know where to start? Well, I am here to address your concerns about that, as well as explain my reasoning for this watch order. From top to bottom, you should watch:
If you are an established fan from any time after 2014, you are probably seething right now, but I can explain! Fate/stay night, while being flawed as an adaptation, is the only one truly designed for people who have no idea about the franchise. This anime was adapted to sell the visual novel, after all! Indeed, Kinoko Nasu himself, the series creator, has even stated that he respects the work of Studio DEEN's 2006 Fate/stay night anime. As of the time I am writing this, this original (and canonical pairing) story route, has not been remade with a better adaptation, so it is the best for beginners. Some people say it spoils the other shows, but I can break that down as well: Fate/Zero spoils every single route yet many people start with that series, which is supposed to be a prequel. Obviously I have more than just this argument, but I can not explain it without LEGITIMATELY spoiling it. Just know one thing: I did not realise anything being "spoiler" material when watching the DEEN anime OR reading this route in the visual novel.
There you have it. Hopefully more people will respect the story of Fate/stay night.
