sesame seeds 200 g oil ½ cup salt ½ tsp
less oil will produce a thicker and rougher paste. more oil will produce a thinner and smoother paste. the flavor and color can be adjusted by how dark you toast the semsame seeds.
the amount of salt included is intended to make it flavorful. not salty.
toast the sesame seeds over low heat. or in an oven set to a low temperature. if in a skillet, toss the seeds about occasionally. ensure heat is evenly distributed amongst them. toast until they are golden. or light brown.
combine salt, oil and toasted seeds in a blender. blend until silky smooth.
