So, in one of my recent emails to the support of $randomservice at some point the unspoken reply was basically "Why do you nerds always complain about things?".
A bit of context: I purchased the subscription for service A, which (should) include also a subscription for service B, but service B was not activated for me even after patiently waiting for a month.
I saw two options at this point:
1. Dump service A, stop being a paying customer and directly purchase B.
2. Complain to A and give them a chance to fix their issue
Step two is typically involved with much more effort for the user, costs nerves and is in general only blessed with a 50% success rate, at most.
But it's fair because it gives the company the chance to fulfill their promise and keep me as a (now) mildly annoyed but perhaps still happy customer. I say customer and not user for a reason.
So coming back at the question "Why do you nerds always complain about things?"
Because your stuff is broken and never works as advertised. And you should be thankful for our "free beta testing" because for every user like me that complains and goes through the struggle of writing emails to you, there are at least 10 users that simply jump ship. Followed by you asking the question "why are people not purchasing our services?".
Because you have not been listening to the few ones that complain on a rational and productive level.
