Making Lagrange a Little Like Vimb, the Vim-Inspired Browser

My default web browser is *vimb*, which is a simple browser that has a lot of vi-esque keybindings that make it possible to navigate via the keyboard. You may have heard of qute browser, which is similar and seems to be better known, but I prefer vimb.

As a really nice feature, lagrange allows similar keyboard-based navigation. Here's how I set some of the keybindings to be like vimb:

Key Bindings

key Function

I think one of these keys may have been assigned to another function by default, so I had to re-assign that function to another key.

Keyboard Navigation

Hitting 'f' now, brings up little shortcuts over links in a page; just like in vimb. The difference is that lagrange uses letters instead of numbers. I don't remember if qute browser uses numbers or letters.

Using vimb, sometimes webpages just have massive numbers of links, so it makes a lot of sense to use numbers. I suppose vimb waits a certain amount of time to see if you're typing one, two, or three digits.

A do like the letters, though. It feels more natural since I have to reach up a couple rows to hit the number keys, but the letters are right there under my fingers. If there's only one link, then it'll get the same letter you use to pop up the hints... so hitting 'f' and then 'f' again will take you to the only link on the screen. Nice.

Wish list

I wish I could assign more that one key to each function. Like pagedown and space could both have the pagedown function. Ditto for j and k vs the arrow keys. Maybe that's already a feature but I just don't know about it.
