Hello, worlds!

I've been working on a QEC receiver, and I think I've gotten it to work.
Well, at least, I got it to receive part of a transmission from THE Lovelace!!!
A salvage crew seems to have boarded it, based on the tiny note that I received.
Apparently they're really into old Earth movies?

I guess their letter reached RS001 and just... kept going, eventually reaching me.
Or maybe my receiver is just so hopelessly broken that I'm receiving messages from
millions of miles away. I guess my engineering knowledge knows no bounds.

In other news, I got a basic scanner to work, and it's currently reporting
that I'm about half an AU away from a planet designated HJP385-1. According
to some quick math, that puts Earth directly between myself and the Lovelace.
That must be how I got that excerpt from them.

Here's what the scanner shows at the time of writing:
         +---------+

HJP385*

The * denotes a star, and the lines represent the current gravitational vectors.

I also figured out what was wrong with the water lines. Turns out they don't
like rusting in a garage for 20 years. I replaced them with some new piping I
had in storage, but those were my last ones. I'll have to stop by somewhere to restock.
I jettisoned the old pipes, so sorry to anyone that accidently gets hit by a stray tube.

I'm about a quarter through my freeze-dried food packs, and the crops are almost
ready for harvest. I'll have to buy more food when I stop, too.

Anyway, this message is getting kind of long, and for some reason this transmitter still has
a maximum character limit. I'll have to figure that out soon.

This is Captain Pax Terra, signing off.
