Reading a new book and came across this quote. Sums it up perfectly for me:

Once, when a friend asked him if he envied the ever-growing wealth of the railroad magnate E. H. Harriman, Muir quipped: I am already richer than Harriman. I have all the money I want, and he hasn’t.

Things you own, end up owning you.. being in fear to loose your precious can be quite stressful.. except health, my parents, comrades and my cat i have nothing to really loose, feels good ;) · 3 months ago

I feel like a lot more people are viewing things this way recently, which is probably a good perspective to have during the upcoming recession. Not wanting a lot of stuff is not only mentally beneficial, but helpful for the environment as well! Less waste means a happier planet. I'm in for both reasons. · 3 months ago

When desire is quenched in the nadir of the Valley,

One sees all that is and moves beneath the surface.

Dead men see everything.

Therefore, said the Sage:

Emptied of desire, one can see the mystery.
Filled with desire, one can see only the manifestations. · 3 months ago
