Using a recipe provided by kumquat I've been working on perfecting my baking of a basic chocolate chip cookie. There have been no failures so far and I continue to improve with each effort.
Darlings! Let me speak to you of the divine deliciousness which has descended upon my tastebuds. In my third attempt at these chocolate chip cookies I've lowered the cook time to 11 minutes (and updated the recipe to reflect that). I said that my 2nd attempt was perfect, didn't I? Hogwash! Utter nonsense! I was an ignorant baffoon! Cooking for one minute less has revealed the gooey, chewy-and-yet-also-subtly-crunchy-on-the-exterior perfection.
Notes to self: Measure by weight is key. Keep the dough cool. Be a bit more liberal with the garnish salt.
This will probably be my last entry on these cookies. I think I've got these things under control now.
