and other thoughts from this weekend
Made it through the weekend with the first sub-zero Fahrenheit temperatures I've ever experienced. Past a certain point it stops feeling any more cold and it just starts cutting through you more and more. The snow wasn't so bad fortunately and we only had to be pretty careful on the roads for a day or so.
Took the opportunity to get cozy and catch up on a few movies and shows, among other things. WandaVision has been getting pretty good after a slow start, and Hunt for the Wilderpeople directed by Taika Waititi earns a spot somewhere in my mental list of favorite movies.
I was also chatting a bit over the weekend with someone trying to get started programming for the first time. It sounds like they've been using one of those apps that has a bunch of coding tutorials in order to learn some python basics since they don't have a PC at the moment. It just got me thinking how awesome it is to see people with such an initiative and positive attitude for learning something completely new. It shows a kind of rare humility when you have a willingness to understand something that's completely foreign to you. It's no secret that the world could use some more of that these days.
