David Hurley, 28 Jan
GARDAi have launched an investigation following the discovery of a
man's body on a beach in County Clare.
The discovery was made by members of the public at White Strand beach,
Doonaha in the west of the county, at approximately 3pm this Saturday.
Having arrived at the scene, the remains were recovered by gardaà and
Coast Guard volunteers and a local doctor, who also attended, formally
pronounced the man dead.
A garda spokesperson confirmed the body has since been removed to the
morgue at University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem will take
place.
The local coroner has been informed and the results of the post mortem
will determine the course of the investigation.
At this stage, there is nothing to suggest the man's death is
suspicious.
