Hello! My name is Travis Skaalgard and I'm a lifelong computer nerd who thrives in small, underpopulated corners of the Internet. I am a millenial who lives in Kansas, if that matters. I am happily in an open marriage, but my dance card and heart are currently full <3
I am something of a jack-of-all-trades. I have a wide variety of interests which include computers, free software, music, languages and linguistics, video games, movies, books, ethical non-monogamy and lots of other things. I live on coffee, whiskey and wistful nostalgic sadness. I really like lava lamps, which is strange.
I play guitar (mostly acoustic and classical) and several other instruments (flute, ocarina, and I dabble in many other stringed instruments), I sing tenor, I have a particular affinity for folk music and played in a folk music ensemble for several years in college.
I enjoy reading about linguistics and history. I am a member of the Society of Creative Anachronism, and am very interested in the Middle Ages as a topic.
I have recently discovered a love of fitness and softball which I think round out the previously neglected corners of my personality quite well. I am looking to add boxing or some sort of martial art to this list.
I speak four languages: English (natively), Spanish (fluently), Esperanto and Portuguese (both conversationally). I love learning languages and plan to expand this list. Feel free to contact me in any of these four languages!
