Hike: Federispitz

Two times ago on Saentis, I managed to get my boot jammed in between a couple rocks and, in the process of removing it, tore right through the fabric.

Eh, they weren't really waterproof anyways and were already causing me issues.

I coughed up a painful amount for proper hiking boots and, after a couple weeks of wearing them around town, took them out to Federispitz for a test run.

Oof.

I started at Ziegelbruecke and made a beeline right for the summit; it was two and a half hours of constant heavy uphill.

I took a slightly more chill route back down, passing by Plaettlispitz, down to Rittersberg, and finally back to Ziegelbruecke.

After being in wide shoes for so long, I don't think my toes like being in a constricted space anymore and aren't very happy with me; I hope it's just part of the break-in process.

Anyhoo, I saw lizards, llamas, cows, sheep, and mountain goats, so quite a successful day for animal spotting.

It's also always nice to be able to see previous hikes, such as Saentis, Pizol, and *maybe* Pilatus.
