Lost Gods of England is a coffee table-style book of scholarly

modern-day Americans.

works of the same name by other authors.

All of the works by Ellis-Davidson are classics in the field.
In Gods and Myths, Ellis-Davidson has written a book that is a good
general introduction to the Old Religion of the North. The book is scholarly
but not written at such a level that it becomes inaccessible. In it are
chapters on the various deities, and comparison with earlier germanic, Roman,
Celtic and occasionally Indic cultic practices.

understanding, but the sources are noted for those who wish to do further
research.
The series is highly recommended for children.
