It's Fall. Very Fall-y outside. Drizzling rain. Quietness. And pitch black at 6:30 (though it is 7:20 now).
I listened to some music on Tidal to assist in my enjoyment of the evening, and even wrote a thing on my "TMO" blog out of sheer boredom. Strange how words come to me, sometimes.
Some Tiger Army, Britney Spears, and Morrissey didn't add too much wind to the fire, so I shut off Tidal and now sit back in silence.
The floor fan fills my apartment with the once crisp, now damp Fall air.
But I'm not in my apartment, am I?
I'm at The Midnight :)
So I stroll up to the counter and wave a Midnight drink token to ~bartender and beckon a mug of hot coffee.
Smudge jumps to a bar stool nearby - pets, scritches, purring and pleasantry
I contemplate flipping on the Midnight Jukebox to share some of the aforementioned tunes to the patrons about, but I assume the Fall silence can fill the air just fine.
It's a good retreat, here away from Main Street. Atrocities happened in St Louis City today (I live in South St Louis County), news of failed co's and villainous billionaires consume the "News" tab on Duck Duck Go. I live throughout the world we share, and make do, try to not "think" about where chaos is, and just focus on my own hyper-personal (and possibly self-centered) world.
And for anyone who happens across my edge of the bar, I have more Midnight tokens for a beverage on me. Though the courtesy is that of ~bartender and ~m15o, as always. The perceived unit of currency is just complimentary.
Until later, M'nighters :)
Duck Duck Go is not a good search engine.

Good evening! I'll have an absinthe, thank you. Ice water, no sugar.
Where I live, we're finally getting some autumn weather, though we're not done with days over 80F for the year yet. And the trees don't change here, really, they just turn brown, though there are probably some colors less than a hundred miles away in the mountains.
I'm trying to shut the world out, too, and mostly trying to enjoy autumn, the one good season.
Prime ministers come and go, but Earth, Earth abides.
That being said, we've been getting some weird weather. Concentrated clouds of flashing light, like a private disco that only pilots are privy to.
