Anarcho-blank bullshit
When one says to the world that they are “an Anarchist”, to the world
that perceives itself as logical and rational (yet untrue in its
observations many times), they see that person or group of people as
idiots, or children. While it is very true that there are many an idiot
that call themselves an Anarchist (myself included), the liberal mindset
inherently does not allow itself to open up to the possibility of
complex and rational politics existing outside of the frame of a liberal
society (in some cases even farther to the right is noted as having
complex politics as well). The modern day Anarchist doesn't wish for a
free for all, much of the time they wish for things on the complete
contrary. This is due to the inherent frame of progressive politics that
Anarchism is built upon, that being “the complete abolition of
hierarchy”. One could very easily make the argument that it would be
“easier” to do such a “daunting” task by breaking up society as a
surefire way to abolish social hierarchy. But this argument is older in
nature and does not account for humans wanting to be “good” (whatever
that means to the individual). The current most accepted ideological
anarchist thought is that only through mutual aid and community action
can the abolition of hierarchy take place. Cause what good is the
revolution if I can't drink a cup of coffee while doing it. It is only
through such an act of human love that a world can exist where hate is
discouraged.
All that has been said is well and good, but the main aspect of this
micro manifesto is this: What the fuck do you mean by “an Anarchist”.
Anarchism is such a large and open notion, and even so many people
within modern American society don’t recognize it to be a notion in the
first place. Of course one could go up to your local political meeting
and say that you are an Anarchist, and you might get some “awes” or
maybe even a couple sighs or laughs, but that doesn't actually tell
anyone what your political views are. While this matters not to any
person who still holds capitalism to be a strong idea. It matters much
to those who seek to find others who are in a similar mind to how they
believe society ought to be.
Two anarchists could enter the same room and be entirely different
humans, with different styles and different speaking patterns. One
dressed in entirely hemp clothes, drinking a double shot iced espresso,
wearing a backpack filled with pipes and other such pieces. The other
has a full made battle jacket, combat boots, and a giant and open “bash
the fash” tattoo and their arm. These two may only appear similar in
ideology, but even that could be far out of the truth. This isn't to say
that these two individuals wouldn't get along, in fact I'm 90% certain
that they would. But this is to say that Anarchism is not just one
thing. Anarchism is a thousand different micro changes to the same firm
idea that humans should respect other humans.
Tell me what is the difference between an anarcha-feminist and an
eco-anarchist, if both of them want the abolition of the patriarchy, as
well as to bomb a pipeline.
Truly I would much rather have an acronym that describes my ideology
simply to those who understand it, or I would just like to call myself a
fucking anarchist.
