"Letting Go" is about the people and experiences therewith subsequent to having landed a particular single (i.e. no roommate) dorm room in college, on a floor of what I'm remembering to be 10 people - written on the verge of leaving not just that room/dorm, but that university and college life altogether:

a year ago, not long away
I moved into a room
one of my own
not much to show, nor much to say
and yet this very room
became my home
it all seemed very matter of fact
the future at that point
had not been shown
but slowly it revealed itself
through people likes of which
I've never known
a life of moments, not one dull
a life of fullness lay
before my eyes
smoke and drink and song and walk
yet even heartful talk
to my surprise
I've always been the one
whose many letters never seemed
to bring replies
but suddenly I find myself
accepted for myself
and not for lies
the end is really here for me
so listen all of you
before I go
thank you for the time you spent
the feelings shared
along with what you know
thank you for the laughs and tears
the good times and the bad
the high and low
and as a group for taking time
and showing me the art
of letting go
