The Sound file format -> .wav (a RIFF WAV file format) can be loaded,
played and then converted and saved in the sound file format of your
choice using the GS/OS sound editor 'USE' (Universal Sound Editor). You
can download the ShrinkIt GS 1.1 (BXY) archive of 'USE' (Universal Sound
Editor) from the following url.

ftp://apple.cabi.net//pub/applegs/Music.and.Sound/USE.BXY

With this ability for your WAV file, play, save and/or conversion needs
and desires, with the 'USE' (Universal Sound Editor) program, I've
selected two WAV files for you to load, play, convert, save or whatever
- which I've uploaded in ShrinkIT GS v1.1 (SHK) archive file formats.

One of the WAV files is a oriental and cosmic style tune called
Lotus.Wav. The other WAV file is a somewhat offensive (to some - no
doubt, cat lovers beware ;-)) humor, oriental food related song with
vocals and acoustic guitar. They are just presented in these SHK
archives as a couple of samples for the IIgs users - to show you what
you can do with a WAV file and the USE program.

With the endless amounts of WAV files available on the Internet, I'd
think those of you that really get a kick and enjoyment out of having
sound files for use with your IIgs would do some deligent searching and
conversions of all the endless amounts of WAV files available for such
needs. I've done it myself with 100's of these WAV files - converting
them to other standard IIgs sound file formats with the USE program for
playing and my own listening enjoyment on a IIgs. I intend to keep at it
too. Perhaps some day, when I obtain enough of them to fill up a CD ROM
disc with them all, I'll do it and offer it to the public.

If you know of any OTHER IIgs sound program that will play a WAV (WAV
RIFF) file format - presented in the SHK files as an unknown file type,
(imported from the Mac) and do a clean conversion to any of the standard
IIgs file format types, better than the USE program can do - then use
it. Otherwise, I suggest you use the USE Universal Sound Editor to
listen to them or whatever you intend to do with them.

Cheers & Enjoy,
Tom
