Geminews: top headlines and their stories from NPR, CNN, and CSM
FloodFeeds news through Gopher: headlines and stories from Voice of America, Wikinews, Democracy Now, Kaiser Health news, and TidBITS Apple news
Wikipedia mirror for Gemini: It’s Wikipedia (the freely available, collaboratively-edited encyclopedia) for Gemini (hyperlinks in the middle of the text are collected at the ends of paragraphs)
Lobsters mirror: an unofficial Gemini page with the top 25 links and their comments. (Lobste.rs is a tech-oriented link sharing site.)
Nitter: a web app for reading tweets. Twist: no JavaScript, no ads, no tracking, no kidding. When I run across a Twitter link I just replace the [mobile.]twitter.com part of the URL with nitter.net and enjoy.
Caveat: in my opinion it’s not exactly the Small Internet because of its interface. It’s an HTML5, CSS, SVG affair so it looks best in Firefox/Chrome/etc... in fact it resembles a dark mode Twitter pretty well. Nevertheless there’s no JavaScript; just plain old tweets in divs, which is nice. If you don’t trust them Nitter is AGPL-licensed so you can run your own instance.
