Explanations from a teenager

Explanations from a teenager: a collection of anarcho-communist essays

by Jupiter Talbot

Revolution or death: on the condition of the American imperial state

Traditionally people would go to jail for crimes against the state. The

state acts always in self interest. But people can go to jail for crimes

against other people. And not all people are part of the state. Thus we

see that the state must keep up the appearance of helping people, while

really helping itself. Left alone this system would destroy the state,

as leaders don’t often act legally. So there must be a monetized and

money based legal system in order to ensure that the leaders stay in

power. Thus the spending of money, our great capitalist tradition, must

be protected at all costs. This is done by forcing the legislature to

view spending money as a form of speech. The democrats and republicans

see this as sacrificing democracy to maintain order. Under a state there

can be no democracy. Under capitalism there can

be no true equality. One vote, one bank account, one voice, one $100,000

slipped under a table in an unmarked envelope in order to ensure, just

to ensure that social order and social control are kept safe, will

always be more powerful than the vote of a common person. There will be

no order until we are equal. Only then will things not be unfair, and

only then will people not be motivated to crime. And there is no

equality under the state. Because the president, and the senate members,

and thus the bourgeoisie, can pass laws. And the proletariat cannot.

Until we eliminate corruption there can be no state, and we cannot

eliminate corruption without eliminating capitalism, and once

capitalism, and all of its mindsets, are eliminated, the state becomes a

relic of capitalism. It now has no use, and thus it will either abolish

itself or turn to tyranny. The state is not necessary. It is a piece of

capitalism that must be dismantled in order to fully free the

proletariat. It is a relic of inequality. An outdated symbol of

oppression. The state is simply an idea enforced in our minds from

birth, that we are worth less than others, and that it is our natural

place to be under them. That it is our natural place to step aside and

let them lead. Because they must be better. Because people probably like

them. The state has found a way to convince us that it is a democracy.

There will never be a democracy under a state. There will never be a

democracy under a two party system. There will never be a democracy

under capitalism. We do not have much time. We are rapidly moving toward

fascism, and the center left, now more right leaning than ever, refuses

to condemn it. We, as people, constantly move through this earth

through, around, avoiding, and dreading oppression. People of color

repeatedly experience microaggressions, as do neurodivergent people, and

lgbtq+ people. We get deeply hurt, and then we are told that this is

normal. That they are trying their best, but being tolerant, and not

racist, ableist, and homophobic, is just very hard. Neoliberals have the

ability to forgive republicans, to love the government, to trust the

systems, to tolerate fascists, because they are privileged. They are

white, and straight, and well off, and they don’t lose anything when

people get hurt. This is how they support capitalism. They don’t fall

with the rest of us. This is the state’s perpetuation of performative

competition. The Democratic Party will never destroy itself, its systems

of power, because it is benefitting from them. The Democratic Party will

never realize, partially because it is proof that, the state constitutes

oppression, and capitalism constitutes the state, and thus, that

capitalism constitutes a revolution.

The great trap of the democratic party: on the voting rights of the

working class

The two party system is garbage. This is a well known fact, but it’s

worse than I thought. In America there are essentially only two parties

who can win. The center left democrats and the far right republicans.

There are other parties sure, but they basically can’t win, seeing as

they have very little funds and that’s basically the only thing that

matters on the campaign trail. I’m a communist, so I obviously want to

vote for a communist. I can vote for a member of the communist party,

but they are basically guaranteed not to win. Thus I have to vote for

the farthest left party that is viable. I have to vote for a centrist,

who I disagree with on most things. Because of this the Democratic Party

can do whatever they want. We saw this with the recent denial of the $15

minimum wage. The Democratic Party got away Scott free, even though they

were the reason it didn’t get passed. And we can’t do anything about it.

We will still vote them in every election season, we’ll still canvass

for them and donate to their campaigns. What else can we do? If they

don’t win then the republicans will, and they’ll drive our country even

deeper into the dark ages. So the Democratic Party can just spit in the

eye of the working class. They can just bomb as many countries as they

want. They can support coups and get payed off not to make changes by

corporate billionaires all they want. Because we will always vote for

them come election season. We will always vote blue, no matter who.

But does this mean that we can’t vote for the democratic candidates. If

we don’t vote then the fascists win. We’ve just been completely screwed

over. There is no good way out of this situation until we enlighten the

proletariat.

Landlord learnings: on the role of landlords in our capitalist society

Because of capitalism, the modern proletarian faces many daily

pressures, each one stressing them and ultimately being useless and

nonsensical in nature. One of these great leeches is the landlord. Think

critically now, what does your landlord actually contribute to society/

What work do they do? Your landlord is essentially just a pile of money,

one that you need to feed, and that will occasionally pay for a broken

pipe. If you refuse to contribute to this pile of money, you will be

ridiculed, and kicked on to the street. And once you are there, you will

be treated as subhuman. You will be spit on by society, thrown away by

those who profit from your labor. The homeless have immense trouble

finding a job, as there are so many negative stereotypes built up around

the homeless. Although drug addiction is a problem in homeless

communities, they would not turn to drugs if they could find employment

and housing, and studies have proven that the vast majority of homeless

people will spend money to buy food and shelter, not drugs. Imagine

yourself in that situation. What would you spend your money on? Would

you buy drugs before food? The degree of separation between you and the

people on skid row is about a month at most. If you do everything right,

never anger your landlord, never do anything wrong, if you can’t afford

rent, you are still cast out. This keeps us servile and weak. We have no

choice to dissent against our bosses, as if we do, we will be fired.

Once we are fired we will have no money to pay rent, and thus

homelessness, and thus unemployment, and thus death. Landlords are one

of the most vital systems that uphold capitalism. Once landlords are

taken away, and the worker is no longer under threat of starvation and

deprivation in the inevitable event of a firing they will be able to

focus on more important things. They will quickly unionize, and realize

that their bosses are hypocrites. This will lead to the downfall of

capitalism, and the rise of the proletariat.

The nonsense of modern society: an examination of social norms

We, as a society, perpetuate a constant stream of nonsense and deeply

strange, rigid ideals. From the first day of our lives we are taught

that we must fit into one gender. We are taught that boys wear blue, and

girls wear pink. Later on, that boys are strong, and always wear shorts,

and pants, and never cry, and that girls are small, and weak, and wear

dresses and skirts. these rigid ideas of gender and sex are enforced on

us right out the womb, and as soon as we can talk those ideas are making

money for big companies. They make bank off of needlessly gendered

children’s clothes, and marketing toys towards specific genders. This

enforces the ideas of misogyny and transphobia. It also reinforces

heteronormativity in youth. We see this clearly when parents refer to

their children as “ladie’s men” whenever they make a female friend. I

know that seems like an over reaction, but think of it this way. If you

saw me saying that my child is gay, and will always be gay, and is

constantly hitting on men, you would probably call CPS on me. We also

enforce some truly terrible things on young girls. One fear that cis-het

men often have is that their daughters will become pornstars or thots or

whatever. They have no such fears about their sons, because they assume

that their children will be straight, manly men. We tell young girls

that the boys who push them over, and bully them, are just doing it

because they have a crush on them. This primes these girls to tolerate

abusive relationships, and teaches the boys that they can get away with

these things. These boys then go on to get worse, in the early years,

bullying, then later sexual harassment, then later, abuse. And no one

condemns them. Because “Boys will be boys.” Because “They were having a

bad day.” Because “she was asking for it by doing that and wearing

that.” It’s always the same. People let men get away with it, and blame

the women, further restricting them. We see this often. We saw it

recently, when a shooting that was obviously racially motivated, in

which many Asian women were shot, was blamed on mental health issues. It

was blamed on sex addiction. Fun fact! Sex addiction is massively

misscharacterized, because it’s really not like up there with drugs and

alcohol, and self harm. It’s not that big. Not being able to get off is

not the kind of thing that can result in mass shootings. That man was

racist, and misogynistic, and because of that, he slaughtered multiple

Asian women. And this is blamed on the fact that he wasn’t having enough

sex. We need to call this what it is. A racist, misogynistic mass

shooting. One akin to the many we have seen before. White men can get

away with this, because our society values them above all else. And we

refuse to prosecute them. We saw this with kyle rittenhouse, and the way

that people still defended him even after we knew the gory details.

White men will always be defended in our society.

One of the most harmful social norms is that of suburban life. Right now

I live in a suburb, and it’s the worst. But still every child growing up

is taught that unless they have a nuclear family, living in an ideal

upper class neighborhood where everything looks the same, and it is easy

to forget how the poor people suffer right outside the community gates,

then they have failed. The rigid societal rules that uphold suburbia are

strict, conformist, and lead to mental health issues. I cannot tell you

everything that is wrong with places like New Albany, but to find out,

just try wearing anything that stands out somewhere like New Albany

middle school. just try being visibly different, outwardly

anti-conformist, or really outwardly anything but straight white,

moderate Democrat or Republican, and male. All the buildings look the

same, all the kids dress the same, all the people act the same. Being

too aggressive about being different, or god forbid, criticizing the way

things are, will result in ostricization and trauma, and this rigid

social structure results in high rates of suicide, which is ignored by

the adults, who pretend like nothing ever happened. And when you come

forward and say that you need help, they just take you to one of their

mental health zoos. Once you’re done there they prescribe you some pills

to make the world seem better than it is, and send you on your way,

acting surprised when you get sent right back. And that whole procedure

will cost you a couple thousand dollars, plus the social cost of going

to literal crazy jail for a week and a half. The suburbs chew up and

spit out kids, conditioning them to never express themselves, and to

hide behind a persona, and result in little straight white male

@ssholes, who never expect to be held accountable, and will inevitably

major in business, get rich off bitcoin, join a startup, and then get

busted for drugs and sexual harassment. But the suburban dream has also

become incredibly hard for younger generations to achieve. Zoomers and

millennials have been screwed over, economy wise, and now only an

incredibly small percentage of us can hope to achieve a nuclear family

in the suburbs, if not, only a job. This idea is unrealistic and

harmful, as are many that we perpetuate.

Speaking of unrealistic and harmful, let’s talk gender. We’ve already

talked about rape culture, now let’s get into its deepest roots. Did you

know that human beings are the only animals with a concept of gender?

Gender is just the way we present, so really, rigid gender ideas are

useless. Why are you either a boy or a girl? Why aren’t you sort of

feminine some days and sort of masculine others? Gender roles aren’t

natural, they’re just sort of a thing we made up. Gender is a

performance. Gender is just the way through which We perceive the world,

and that is taught to kids from the day that they are born. When kids

don’t conform to those rigid ideas of who they have to be, and try to be

something more like themselves, they are bullied and hated. Just take a

step back and consider, why? Why is gender just one or the other all the

time? Why did we make up gender in the first place? Plus, when did we

make up gender roles? There is significant evidence that there was no

real gender divide amongst early society. We developed this idea. And it

sucks.

One of the worst, and most pressing ideas we conform to is that of

government. We did not choose to be born into a place with a government.

We did not, and could not have consented. Government is built off the

idea that some people are better than others, and that it is those worse

people’s natural state to be ruled by the better ones. Think about all

the decisions that your lawmakers make and have made. Think of how

little you had to do with that process. Think about the fact that in

Kentucky it is literally illegal to make fun of a police officer. Think

about all that for like a minute, and tell me that you don’t want to

walk into the ocean. A fun fact about Texas, it is illegal to swear in

public or flip someone off on the street there. The majority of people

think that’s wack. But we don’t get to decide. The government decides

for us. From the day that we’re born, we live like this. And thus we

don’t want to criticize this system. It seems so natural to us that this

is the way the world works. We take for granted that we need a

government to survive, and that a society without one would be utter

chaos. Of course we would think that, we have never seen anything but

governed society. We refuse to understand anything else. This is forced

on us from day one. We just assume that it’s the way that it should be.

This is the trap of restrictive societal norms.

Rhetoric and arguments with neoliberals

Arguments are hard. Arguments with neoliberals are harder. Neoliberals

are obsessed with the aesthetic of the system and government, calling

all who want to change the system childish and idealistic. Here’s the

big issue though. I am a child. If you’re reading this you’re probably a

teenager or young adult too. Old people don’t take us seriously, and

whenever we engage in a debate and they begin to lose, they can fall

back onto the argument that we are too young to understand. That we are

too idealistic. That what we are saying works in theory, but we are too

young to know that it doesn’t work in practice. They do this whenever

their world view is threatened, abandoning the aesthetically pleasing

rhetoric traps and proper debates, and falling back on punchy takedowns,

that are difficult to disprove. They become defensive, skittish, and

flighty. They concede points, and then argue that that is the only

scenario, and thus it is invalid. They refuse to listen, and become

brick walls, incapable of movement. Normally when someone becomes

skittish and flighty it is a good opportunity to trap them, or to

convince them to secede. Looking back on the argument, they may

reconsider, and change their mind. But with debating older people as a

young person, they can simply go back to the same arguments that they

always use, becoming an unmovable boulders of illogicality. No matter

what points you bring up, they refuse to believe it, and that makes it

hard to make any progress.

An caps are stupid and the worst

I am an anarchist. That’s something that I’m proud of. But there are

some people who make me a little bit less proud to say that. You may be

thinking that I mean an-prims, with their ableism of late, but I want to

talk about something that I hate more. Today I want to talk about

an-caps, or anarcho capitalists. These people are scum 100% of the time.

Ben Shapiro is an an-cap, although he would say right libertarian.

An-caps pretend to hate the government, but they also love the police

and military, and are anti immigration. Under a capitalist society

without government, capitalists would just take over. The businesses

would become the government. Anarchists are meant to believe that all

people should be equal. An-caps don’t believe that. They advocate for

the stealing of labor value, and for authority in companies. They are

what neoliberals think anarchists are. They don’t have real beliefs,

they just hate their dads, and like the aesthetic of anarchy. A trend I

have noticed, an-caps seem to be the most self absorbed pompous people

around. Everything that they have to say is useless, and yet they think

that they are the smartest people in existence. The main issue with them

is that they never want to do work. Not real work, at least. An-caps

always envision themselves as the head of a successful billion dollar

company, not the worker that that company exploits. They want tax breaks

for the rich because they just want to be rich and leave everyone

behind. Even if they’re poor now, they still perpetuate in their minds

the idea that soon they will be rich, and if they aren’t, then it’s the

government’s fault. “Yeah, bud! Think a little deeper now! Why is there

a government? Why do you have to be rich to survive? You’re getting

there! It’s because of capitalism!” An-caps could be on their way to

enlightenment, if they just didn’t assume that they already know

everything. They just need to be open to actual knowledge, and get over

their capitalist brainwashing, and they might end up around where I am.

An-com. Anarcho-communist. The issue is, they’re super racist. And

homophobic. And just generally the worst. They’ll never join the left

because they refuse to learn, and also because the left is anti-racist,

and progressive.
