The Vampiric-Anarchist Manifesto

Terminology

The word “Vampire” will be used in according to real life accounts of

vampirism, no mythological bullshit that obviously isn’t real. Mainly

the argument will be for people with clinical vampirism, or Renfield

Syndrome, as the side effects are much more serious as well as generally

unavoidable.

Vampirism comes in multiple forms. Most forms of clinical vampirism come

as the natural craving for blood as well as admiration for vampire

figures, whether mythological such as Dracula, or real such as Vlad The

Impaler. This is usually a mental disorder caused by trauma during early

childhood that involves blood, especially if that blood is somehow

forced or unwillingly makes its way into the victim’s mouth, and is

often linked closely to mental illnesses such as Dissociative Identity

Disorder (DID). More extreme cases involve diseases such as Xeroderma

Pigmentosum which is a hypersensitivity to sunlight, causing people to

have to stay out of the sun at all costs for the fear of developing skin

cancer at very young ages; or Porphyria which causes genetic issues with

the victim’s hemoglobins, which is a protein found in red blood cells,

and therefore causes the person to crave blood as a way to alleviate

symptoms of the condition. Non-clinical forms of vampirism are purely

through a person’s admiration for vampire media, like movies, books,

etc; and lifestyle choices such as regularly drinking blood, avoiding

sunlight, and staying up throughout the night.

Donor will be referring to those who give blood to these “vampires”,

whether in return for something or for free.

Anarcho-Nihilism is, at its sole, a post-left anarchist position which,

among embracing the philosophical opposition to objective truth, finds

the possibility of the abolition state quite unlikely. According to

nihilist anarchist thought, however, we should do whatever we can to

work towards our goal of a stateless system or society, whether that be

through education, preparation, or abolishing subsystems within the

present, etc. Anarcho-nihilists refuse to subscribe to economic systems

as they accept that we cannot predict what would “work” best in a future

world that would be extremely different to the current, and because we

could not factor in every possible event that could have major effects

on said system.

Goals of Vampiric Anarchism

Vampiric Anarchism, or Anarcho-Vampirism, advocates for an anarchist

subsystem which would make the obtaining of blood easier for those who

wish to live a vampiric lifestyle, whether this lifestyle be induced

clinically or willingly. The base system would likely consist of a

vampire and a donor being able to make an agreement between each other

on how much blood said donor would like to donate, and could then have

the blood drawn by someone trained in the medical field.

Vampiric-Anarchism is inherently similar to anarcho-nihilism in that it

does not seek to establish any sort of economy, and instead seeks to

adapt to its surroundings in the event that the state was successfully

abolished.

Among this baseline network of consensual blood donorship, exists the

idea that for vampires who lack the ability to find a donor, whether

that be for internal or external reasons, or for both, another system

should exist to aid these individuals. Blood, when donated normally for

organizations such as the Red Cross, can only last so long before

expiration. In the off-chance that blood expires and must be disposed

of, these vampires could possibly take that blood instead as to put it

to some sort of use afterwards instead of it being incinerated instead,

as is a common practice in the medical field. Though old blood is often

not preferable for those who wish to consume it, the point still stands

as to serve as some sort of stimulant to those without access to a

donor.

Vamp-An seeks to abolish taboo surrounding diseases and lifestyle

choices such as vampirism, through the recognition that actions which do

not harm others autonomy should be widely supported as to reduce the

oppression of individuals throughout anarchist society, especially

considering that is one of the main points of anarchism against the

state. Taboo, or suppression of expression when it comes to mental

illness, is not exclusively aimed towards vampirism within

anarchist-vampirism. It is aimed towards all mental conditions, as long

as those conditions do not impede other’s autonomy, vamp-an simply

focuses on vampirism as its main topic and goal.

Reasons to support it

Clinical vampirism often comes with various side effects to the disease.

A lack of blood can often lead to varying levels of depression, anxiety,

and heightened irritation, as well as a lack of appetite which may in

turn lead to weight loss and malnutrition. Of course this is not

constant throughout everyone who suffers from the disease, however it is

quite common. Part of the goal of vampiric anarchist thought is to help

prevent these systems and to let those who deal with this syndrome

express themselves how they want without being suppressed or constantly

insulted by those who do not understand the condition, nor seek to

understand it. This alone is a massive step towards vampirism becoming a

healthier practice overall.

As stated before, anarcho-vampirism supports the idea of autonomy for

all individuals, as long as said individuals do not impede on other’s

autonomy. If it doesn’t affect anyone, why should they care? Vampirism

is urged, especially within vamp-an, to be practiced one hundred percent

consensually, meaning blood should never be taken forcefully, whether

that is through emotional or physical manipulation. Vampirism, even

practiced consensually, is considered illegal in multiple states within

America, as well as other countries around the world, directly impeding

on this sense of autonomy purely for a moral code ingrained within

society. This, in our minds, is an overreach of state power and needs to

be done away with as soon as possible.

Vampirism is often criticized for being unhealthy for the individual

practicing it due to the large amounts of iron intake induced when

drinking quantities of blood larger than a shot glass worth. Excess iron

in the body is stored within organs such as the kidneys and liver, and

can lead to iron overdose which may cause an excessive light headed

feeling, nausea, and can even be fatal in extreme cases. However, if

blood is consumed in fairy small quantities, this would likely not be a

serious problem. If iron levels do start to rise too far, then it is

recommended to donate blood as a way to even out these levels, so

vampirism can, in some cases, even lead to more blood donated for the

general population to use when needed during medical procedures.

Through abolishing taboo behind vampirism and conditions similar to it,

not only can we help people practice it more safely, but we can also

help those who do wish to get rid of it, get mental help to hopefully

eliminate the symptoms of the condition. Many people do not seek therapy

for conditions due to feelings of embarrassment, in some cases self

loathing or hatred, and the fear of being ridiculed by those meant to

help them. So if we can abolish this taboo, then less people with

Renfield Syndrome would have these fears and negative outlooks on their

condition, and could in turn get psychological help easier if they so

wish.

Vampiric-Anarchism seeks to help the donor, not just the vampire. Part

of the reason for the idea of being able to get help for the process of

donating blood, from a doctor, is to eliminate the danger of donating as

is present today. Currently, donating blood consists of using a knife or

blade to incise the skin and draw blood, which can be very painful,

difficult, and dangerous, due to the possibility of cutting too deep and

majorly damaging a vein or artery, for example. It can also be very

unsanitary, and could get infected if not cleaned out properly. Through

being able to have blood drawn with a syringe, in a place such as a

hospital, it can be made much less painful, much easier, and safer as it

would be more sanitary and done with a needle and not a blade.
