There's a Battery-RAM bit you can set to make QuickDraw not use scanline
interrupts to update the cursor.  It's bit 2 of location $5F.  Because
I was paranoid about possible compatibility risks, it's not set by
default.  Because I added it late in the project, there isn't even a
checkbox in any of the Apple control panels to turn the bit on and off.

By the way, I don't work in Developer Technical Support.  Matt Deatherage
does.  DTS is not the folks directly responsible for bringing you system
software. -- I work in Green System Software, or the Apple II Business
Unit, or whatever we're called these days.  (I *did* work in DTS, from
April 89 to August 90.)

Yes, and there will soon be a new version of ZipTalk (hmm, can't really
keep calling it that) that has all the AppleTalk code removed. System 6
fixes the _AppleTalk_ problem, it does not fix the cursor flicker. That
is going to be the main purpose of the new init -- there's also the system
speed vector, but nobody seems to use that...
