The "Amazon Chernobyl,” is a 4400 km^2 environmental disaster in Ecuador that Texaco created with batent for the wellbeing of the area. Texaco, ownere of the fields from 1964 to 1992, later admitted that it deliberately dumped 72 billion liters of toxic water into the water supply and 1,000 unlined waste pits out of the jungle. Then, the company actually claimed that the wastes were medicinal and "full of vitamins."
The company and its problems have since been purchased by Chevron. So let's boycott until they do something ; it's impotent but it's all we've got.
