A couple weeks ago I finally dusted off my .slrnrc and rejoined Usenet, prompted by the announcement of comp.infosystems.gemini. In addition to that and comp.infosystems.gopher, I don’t know what else to subscribe to. Is anyone else using Usenet?

@degrowther2 as someone who uses thunderbird pretty much daily, I'd prefer to stick to it, but I'm perfectly fine with using other programs. I expect the basics are the same regardless of the program used. · 8 months ago

@kocka_collector @smokey I would be happy to get the ball rolling on something. Would y'all prefer to use a GUI (I think Thunderbird still has news) or something on ther terminal? In the case of the latter, would you rather a client that's easy to get started with or something more powerful but difficult to learn? · 8 months ago

Is there a beginners guide to usenet? Have no clue how to connect to it. · 8 months ago

I've also been wondering lately if Usenet is worth getting into these days. I'd love to hear what others suggest! · 8 months ago
