Title: Post-Egoism Language: en
Let me begin with this: Stirner made good critiques, but he did not go
far enough. He criticized mostly everything but the concept of the Self.
He even wants people to think only for themselves, but he does not
realize that the “Self” is a combination of many different things, such
as material conditions and biological conditions. The Self is seen as
this thing to worship and protect at all times. By this, Stirner creates
a new fixed idea: the self. People have now been calling themselves
egoists, which is basically rejecting everything but the self. The self
is a construct. It is not objective.
So, what now?
Now, I’m not denying that individual human bodies exist, just some
concept of the Self. There are instead forces, internal and external,
that make the illusion of the Self. It can help ground the body and give
some sort of continuity. But the thing is, it doesn’t exist. This means
every body is navigating the world, which is very dynamic, through
something that is rigid. This causes the body to ignore its influences,
to not critique such, and act as if they were permanent. Without a Self,
the body can be more in touch with nature and on a bigger scale, the
universe. Stirner was self-obsessed. I am trying to be selfless. This is
just an introduction to post-egoism. If anyone else wants to elaborate,
feel free to!
