I don't know if any of you besides @martin love learning languages but let me tell you, you really feel proud when you can understand more than you used to. A first for me because I used to switch from languish to language due to lack of structure and in some cases lack of resources as well.

I don't know if I particularly enjoy the actual work of learning of a language, so much as having learned it, and that feeling of "huh, I understood that" (which for latin students surprisingly often comes from public inscriptions and christmas carols). · 2 years ago

Being able to read a book in the language it was written is a very different experience from reading a translation. (And I always add: Never forget that mathematics is also a language. LOL) · 2 years ago

The feeling of using a foreign language for the first time and being understood is so amazing. It's something you don't *really* appreciate until you experience it, but the joy is most definitely real :) · 2 years ago
