2020-07-19 - a short hello

I'm experimenting with Gemini as one of a few means to recover a sense of wonder in the (smaller) Internet. I'm old enough to remember the early days of the web, and through my sysadmin skills I got a lot out of making it possible for friends to contribute content alongside me. While my day-job responsibilities have moved on, there's an undercurrent of writing that seeped into my work through my experiences writing on the early web. I miss writing for myself like I did then, and I miss the sense of community that came with the hosting that I once did. We'll see how we go. 🚀
