Day 5 Natsu 2021 So will those chasing the yusho be thinned out today? We have a surprise guest today. Enho has appeared to make up the numbers. He faced Akua while wearing an arm brace after his earlier match with Ura. Enho managed to win after taking Akua for a walk around. He is not looking well though. Hopefully he does not injure himself further! Chiyomaru thought he had won against Daiamami with a swift pull to the ground. However, earlier on in the round Daiamami did some chasing of Chiyomaru and a heel appeared out of the ring. A quick mono-ii cleared that one up for Daiamami to claim his win. Akiseyama fought Keisei. There was a fair chunk of hugging and belt reaching going on until Akiseyama decided he was hugged out. An attempt was made to use Keisei' belt but Akiseyama managed to swing himself to the ground with the help of Keisei's hand to Akiseyama's head. Terutsuyoshi faced Endo. He did not have a chance. Endo was dominant through out. Terutsuyoshi was pacing around the edge, constantly facing Endo and enduring the slaps from Endo. A final shove lead to a win for Endo. Toshinoshin managed to do a cartwheel off the dohyo today. He faced Onosho, went in firm, got pulled and rolled away. 3/10 for style, 9/10 for effort! Hoshoryu and Ichinojo spent a long time staring before touching the clay with their fists. Inchinojo went first, struggling greatly to try and force Hoshoryu to the ground. However, Hoshoryu found Ichinojo's kryptonite - being too close to the edge of the dohyo. A good win for the smaller rikishi. I certainly would not want to face the man mountain which is Ichinojo. Mono-ii galore today. Myogiryu managed to swing Hokutofuji out but the old 'which body fell first' question arose. Myogiryu was declared winner by the gyoji and the gents in black agreed. Hokutofuji took a nasty cut above the left eye. It was bleeding away as he bowed and left the dohyo. He has still not won a bout. Poor Hokutofuji. Terunofuji maintains his lead, defeating Wakatakagake. Sheer power once again. Shodai got another win against Meisei. It took some effort with Meisei being swung around like a child at one point. 4 more wins to clear kadoband. Takakeisho and Kiribayama had a fairly lively bout. Exploding against one another, eventually Kiribayama managed to slip and hit the clay. Tobizaru tried a dodgy henka against Asanoyama. He failed to grab a leg and was stuck with his head against Asanoyama's belly. A swift swing from Asanoyama meant Tobizaru was dragged along the dohyo. We are still left with Terunofuji as the sole undefeated rikishi. There are 8 who have only 1 loss.
