and I will tell you griefsong
of the hand that spun the killing
how the family went before long
how the hand bent back beyond the wrist
became undone, undid itself
was gone
and I will tell you deathsong
silences, voids of sound, before the hand
conversation blemishes, how the family saw
how communication wavered, water in the sun
became undone, undid itself
was gone
and I will tell you griefsong
of the hand beyond the killing
how my reach was shallow, late
how the hand betrayed my wait, hate
became undone, undid itself
was gone
and I will sing you an emptiness
of the pause that spun the killing
make a dance of griefsong, motion
make a dance of deathsong, motion
become undone, undone itself
was born
