I am the plague that arrived, husbanded in the blankets
I am the grim and decree that broke in froth and malice
I am the eccentric way, defiled in beauty and night
I am the frog that died; I am the curse that followed
I am the hunger that waits in the canyon
I am the word that drives beggars to drinking
I am the cure to the cause, disease to mantle's disease
I am the dog with the fleas, scratching brambles and howling
I am the hideous pause, twixt legitimate sound and the lightning
I am the beautiful way, path natured and nurtured and binding
