there ��s a lot of horror going round, bound up in gore and troubles
modern cinema doubling down, escalating, turning cradles
where watching is an exercise, aversion to the pantomime
becoming neutral, humming primed, training towards discomfort
I find the horror that draws me in
is but half a horror �� a quiet longing in the skin
moments behind quarried granite
glitter of sadness seeping, sweeping dust before it
breath within the oil ��s flame
lamp just enough to read by, an eve ��s twittering
a whittering of sorrows, here today
and yes, still here tomorrow
play me then to solitude
warm rain upon the summer clearing
wrapped in oak and thorn and bramble
this rippled peated hollow
sixty years burned
regrown
home in landlocked harbor
