Donald P. Goodman III
Version 1.0 (15 January 1202)
Not as a man grows old does it grow old; oh, no;
for men in aging lose their strength and are soon weak;
their backs in weariness are bent and bring them low,
their eyes grow dim, and lose ability to seek.
Ere long their legs cannot e'en carry all their weight,
and they enlist the aid of stick or wheel to move;
then finally their minds themselves capitulate,
and cannot their own knowledge summon or improve.
Oh, no; it grows e'er greater as it grows more old;
its strength e'er stronger, mind e'er sharper, it will prove;
a story greater, truer, every time it's told,
more glor'ous every time its glory we behold!
