ah, sweet hope
how it stifles and promotes
how we lever ourselves upon its fullness
cause and effect burned in regardless
cursing the gods and last night ��s runes
to please in church perhaps not fart
and if at last to fail, at least yet ��
hope it won ��t be wet
the sort of art none talk after
here, prunes, well
the gods are laughing
citizen parishioners one and all
in pall of delicate silent wonder
hoping it ��s not family
that whiskey-dad or mother morphine
wouldn ��t let it be this bad ��
holding hands and holding on
fervent wishes where prayers are none
hope on a rope, a giant of nope
keeping the monsters trimmed
