midnight, and the DJ on the radio is telling me
this new release is from those backwater hooligans
with their well-beloved funk-swarming hive
coming to me live from their insect concordance
with timing based on orbital variations
as observed by folks on Proxima Centuri
three drones and an overtone, and the intermezzo
of the variations in four meter radiation
bent devotedly around their primary
confused, I eye the shortwave with some concern
dial around some, get invited to buy toothpaste
before pulling that rogue signal back in
not my native language, on reflection
but home all the same, under the sintering albumen
welcoming, welcoming collective
