we come where there are no people
our ancestors having come where there were
burning them out, burning them down
skull-price on buffalo pulling horizons
our ancestors having been them, burned out
burned down, a planet A in smoke and murder
forgetting we are of one blood, you and I
laying us into many, layering us into
red wrong hand
so we stepped away, stealing
our parents parents �� languages
leaping vast arrays from blood-soft shoulders
carrying our factories and histories in our pockets
our animals as crystal lockets stuffed to blistering
our extinct wonders, our mythologies
all our what-we-were on display
ourselves traded, washed away, remade
new giants still growing
synthesis hand
writing in synthetic drift, becoming speciation
warning in elastic rift, that gaps are for stepping
each variant, each combination, that it not breach
beloved other, spanned among stars
soon to spawn stars, soon more
diversification
