today, in words ancient and forbidden
the oven spoke to my plain sandwich bread
as it warmed secretly behind dark glass
child of malfeasance, your destiny is to rise
ruler of those fallen before your glory
thus demonstrating that baking
on summer ��s hottest day
is both ill-conceived and holey
but pretty darn tasty with mayonnaise
