As of 2022-02-19 gemini.circumlunar.space (GCS/gCLS) is down.
gemini://gemini.circumlunar.space
Maybe there is a power outage due some storms hitting Europe, so do not worry about the little server not serving for a while.
Nevertheless, it seems a bit odd that supposedly solely the subdomain gemini is not reachable when others are (which are mostly gopher though, I guess).
There was another (yet another) "little storm" about TLS and emphasis in Gemini recently. Maybe it was enough to trigger a manual willful disconnect of the gemini subdomain of circumlunar.space?! In which case Solderpunk's mission of creating a new self maintained community could be interpreted also as coming to a successful end. Congratulations!
With the mailing list down end of last year and the Usenet newsgroup comp.infosystems.gemini well established, a shutdown of GCS would further strengthen the decentral setting of the community as a community without any "benevolent leaders".
Not every mundane detail need to be specified to experience the joy of Gemini space. The community sits well somewhere between Gopher and the Web, leaning more towards Gopher I'd say. But neither transport encryption nor strict line based rendering will be loosened in Gemini. Alternatives may flourish under other names.
Revisiting the newsgroup charter:
The Gemini protocol and Gemtext content type are not to be extended per definition and community consent.
// Hmm, why not as an alternative for instance blog per http and recommend Thunderbird as the blog reader client, with its nifty "Structured Text" rendering?
Maybe I'm fantasizing way too much into current non-availability of the gemini subdomain. Recently, there was a power outage at my parents' home, marginalia.nu informed about an NVMe issue, … these things happen. So please excuse if my above thoughts of GCS not coming back online might not resonate too well.

2021-10-23 We'll get there. [Was there another streak of Gemini spec. discussions?]
As has been pointed out on the mailinglist, the Gemini community should not rush things.
Solderpunk still seems to be the perfect BDFL here, so knowledgable and calm.

Supposedly, there was a hardware failure.
