flood management for our fair city
generally implies that at least the gas stays on
lamplighters in river half-cart deep
deployed with patient horses
cobblestone alphabet leading them on
sure footed old nags in blinders with water
body-warm, still rising in slow surge
civilization ��s gold pouring forth
feed bag reflections stowed in corners
gridwork passages viewed from tower
water above water showing civilized
shops, homes, flowering at anchor
every year, that tea-blank rise
every year, that silted fall
