And as vaguely promised ages ago... my whole gopher/gemini/web server is now on my Pi. It's a Raspberry Pi Model B Rev 2 with 512Mb ram. I remember when ordering it they still had 256mb, but after thewaiting period before they sent them out they had double the RAM!
It now takes an absolute age to convert the .md files to text/gmi/html so I may either convert them on my laptop and scp them to the pi or I can get it to keep track of the last time converting was done and only convert things which are modified since then.
I thought this would be a fun project and I hope it will use less electric having a pi on than an old laptop, which is what the old servers were on, constantly. I had a lot of trouble getting *gophernicus* to work, for some reason it wouldn't server from the correct directory. The webserver was easy. And *agate* for gemini was fine, except it seems to refuse to start automatically, the systemd unit file I made for it doesn't work properly; I can *sudo systemctl **start** agate* but I can't do *sudo systemctl **enable** agate*.
I like that the pi turns on much quicker than the laptop and uses less power. I also like that I don't have to type the encyption key everytime I turn on the pi, which was annoying and awkward on the laptop as it's located on the bottom shelf of a table thing.
