On being a male witch

A witch is a person who uses magic to effect changes in their personal reality. I’m a witch.

A warlock is not a male witch. Etymologically, “warlock” means “oathbreaker”, originally being used for those who forsook Christianity for demon summoning and the like. That’s not me, but it’s also not mutually exclusive with witchcraft, nor does there seem to be any reason a *woman* couldn’t be a warlock!

And I’m *definitely* not a wizard. I know the dichotomy existed before J. K. Rowling, but her poorly-written books are what I blame for the modern belief that “men are wizards, women are witches”.

“Witch” is gender-neutral. Just as women can be authors and actors, men can be witches.
