Another day, another commute. I took the bicycle to the train station just to hit a new construction site going on, road closed. At least for cars. I managed to pass on the sidewalk.
The first train then was only half its normal size. So the density of people reached a uncomfortable level immediately. Add to that a technical hiccup on the doors, manual operation of one of the crossings, and a very much annoyed train driver ---- whoohoooo, 10 minutes late at mid station.
Apparently the connecting train was standing in front of a stop signal for no apparent reason. Good thing it did, because that way I did catch my connection without even rushing. Nice! And the bus on the last leg is running every 10 minutes, no sweat!
All in all I was half an hour late compared to the express train, and almost one hour compared to taking the car.
My colleage gave me a ride and dropped me off at a station close to his home. We had a good chat on the way --- that I really missed a lot during the time while I exclusively took the car. I now have some 20 minutes to wait for the next train. Which is ok, I can type away on an insignificant post about my commute.
On the mailing list someone asked about non-technical content in gemini space. So here we go. However, I strongly suspect that posts about daily commutes weren't on the list of expectations. Oh, well.
Hey, Andrew, I have two posts about music!
