This guy caught my attention after watching a couple of his occasionally frantic live sets where he performs captivating tunes using old Roland gear - think 303, 707, SH-101, analogue mixers and, well - stuff!
The sound is amazing, as is his ability to chase the beat on a groovebox to reprogram it on the fly while messing with EQ and/or filters elsewhere. I also discovered he's into chiptunes, which is curious because I found myself looking up C64 SID stuff while first listening to his set - not sure what prompted that, it was something about his sound.
This sounds like it might have some SID stuff in it. The video is amazing!

The following set was for the BBC around 2004 where he used a SID chip among his gear. Not sure if it was still in a C64. A little gem in any case.

His website is quite unusual, not just because of its totally retro feel, but also because it contains no tracking or advertising at all, except where he embeds his bandcamp albums on a page, and the embedding generates hits on uBlock Origin. But really there's nothing retro about this site other than style. Sadly the gigs list is empty, due to some bug that's doing the rounds, but I guess it'll fill up again soon enough.
The links page includes the following line, which of course gets my approval straight off the bat.
MY FARCBOOK ..... MY INSGRAM ......MY TWITER ....my three prongs of Satan's social media trident
And the brutally honest statement that speaks of the long-tail of talented creators on the web...
MY YOUTUBE ....I occasionally make pretty good videos that take forever to make and I get paid 10p for them
You can search him on YouTube, probably elsewhere too, to find some videos of his sets. If you want to hear the first movement of Moonlight Sonata given the Acid House treatment, then have a listen here. It's the SH-101 doing arpeggios for this. A gorgeous sounding synth.

Interesting guy, bit of a comical perfomer, great sounds. I'll close with a tune aptly titled for the nomination of Gemini Official Theme Tune.

If anyone knows more about this guy, in particular anything with chiptune stuff, please chat me 'kevinsan' on #gemini IRC.
