In a bid to restart Gemini Radio, I ordered a professional USB microphone for my computer at the suggestion of my friend jdtron. This will probably be a step up from my old headset, but we will see. I plan to test it on Tuesday when it arrives.
My gemlog script is still behaving a little oddly on ChromeOS/Debian. For some reason the text file it prepares for my log entry begins with "-e " inside the text file, which is wrong and I thought stemmed from the fact that I use `echo -e` to prepare the file, but after reading the script again I couldn't figure out where it's going wrong.
I have been working a little bit on my Pine Phone Pro, and it is presently too buggy to be my daily driver, but I hope it will get to that point in the coming months or years. I knew that was going to be a long-term project, but it also made me realize I still need an Android phone, so I decided to retire my beat up Galaxy S5 for a new (cheap) Nokia G10. For an unlocked Android 11 phone on Amazon, there seems to be a three-way tie in the $150-200 price range between the G10, the Moto G Power, and the Samsung A03S. The phones are nearly identical, so I went with the cheapest Nokia, which also promises better battery life and a longer update schedule, if review posts are to be believed. A cheap phone to last me a couple years is all I ask for now, and I plan to do little more with it than run Conversations and a few vital messaging apps. That kind of makes buying an expensive phone with super specs pointless.
Technically, I didn't need a new phone at all, but I can talk more about that adventure in my next gemcast.
Currently I am visiting my sister in Oregon and greatly enjoying the opportunity to see Portland. I wish I could move there, but now is not the time.
