Thanks for writing about this. I found it very interesting, but I am not sure if there is any hope for gemfeed.py... Like many, I began using it out of convenience, but I think I might need to start looking for a better alterantive, possibly even something homebrewed. This wasn't the first time that it annoyed me by bringing old posts back to the top, so its behavior is clearly not ideal.
