While I have you: Maybe you can clarify this myth about smudge for me!? Is it commonly agreed upon that he can talk or just part of your story/special gift?
Smudge... you mean the cat that hangs out with me? He goes by Smudge with you?
Be careful, he lies a lot, albeit the name part isn't a lie per se. T. S. Elliot got it sort of wrong, cats have *at least* three names, because they sometimes insist that some people call them by one name, and other people by some other name.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure he talks to anyone he fancies talking to. He just has a very cat-ish way of going about it -- he doesn't like to talk unless it's on his own terms. So if you try to strike up a conversation he'll usually ignore you or hiss at you. Then after a few days he'll jump on your table and ask you about the weather or something. Very spooky, I nearly had a heart attack the first time he did it. And I'm sure he talks to other cats, too, although I can't say I comprehend their meowing. His gift, not mine.
Oh, and I hope it's okay that (in my mind) I picture you as that bear from the 1973 Disney Robin Hood movie!?:P
That's my favourite incarnation of Little John!
Oh, not braking character, are we:P
Well, I've overheard people calling him Smudge. I don't know if that's another name or another cat.
It was also mentioned that he hangs out by the fireplace, yet I always meet him at the bar.
During my last visit I thought I heard him chime in, but there was so much noise...
When I was still using Y!M, my mom brought home a stray one day.
She called him The Crimson Corsair. Because of his fur.
Due to his tattoos, we then learned that he must have travelled over 400km from his previous can opener, where he went by the name of Fridolin.
As he kept roaming a lot, I am pretty sure he had many more... Never bothered to ask him, though, and now we're out of touch, too.
So if you try to strike up a conversation he'll usually ignore you or hiss at you.
Funny you would say that. I just witnessed something like that by the rail yard...you'll see, maybe.
That's my favourite incarnation of Little John!
Good taste, good sir! You just might become mine.
