That's re-creation as in creating things again, not going to the playground.
Upon searching Wolfenstein in Gemini, I got several results for other games on the Steam store page. This being Gemini, it did not lead to the real Steam store page, but rather a transcription of a Steam store page, sans images and much of the information about the game. As well as this, the game is not actually Wolfenstein, but a game called Rex Rocket that has presumably been linked to Wolfenstein somehow.
This experience reinforces one of my more negative thoughts about Gemini, and many alternatives to Big Tech mainstream services: they simply recreate information and methodology already present in the Big Tech services like Chrome or Safari.
This is reminiscent to me of video games like Little Big Planet, Happy Wheels, Dreams, and Roblox.
These games are all about giving the players tools to make levels, rather than the game developers making levels themselves. While an interesting proposition, most of these games end up having the userbase poorly recreate other games due to the limited tools or a handful of imitations of specific minigames, and most creative tools go to waste.
Why exactly this is, I am not certain. I think perhaps because people do not have the creativity or drive to use the tools to make something interesting and innovative. Or perhaps, and I believe this to be the case with Gemini, people have become so indoctrinated and familiarized with the traditional usage of Big Tech, they cannot envision anything else or become uncomfortable with pushing boundaries.
