I hope everyone has been well. Let me try and think of what I've been up to, lately...
I'm increasing my activity in these parts, to which end:

I've created a scheme for a new book of poetry and am hoping to chip away at it bit-by-bit over the coming months; once the scheme is fulfilled, I'll subject its contents to a few waves of rigorous editing, and thenβI don't know, presumably move onto another scheme, another book. My favorite poets right now are Georg Trakl and Jim Harrison; I'm also reading a book of selected translations of a Dutch poet I've never heard of before named Hugo Claus.
I'm trying to sustain a positive outlook, or at any rate a more positive outlook than I've had over the past year or so. It's so hard to fence my thoughts into greener pastures! I've had some medical and mental health issues I've been neglecting, but just lately have started to tackle them more directly. Here's hoping I can make some substantial progress in those areas.
As the weather continues to improve, I'm very much looking forward to timing my evening walks so that I begin about an hour, an hour and twenty minutes, before Golden Hour; that way, when I turn around and walk back through the neighborhood walking trail, I get to return through the gleaming slivers of amber that fall through the tree-cover. This is also the time of day, of course, when the little black asterisks of mosquitoes start to annotate the air, so the key to this timing is leaving just enough time to really enjoy the early twilight without being eaten alive.
I'm still mulling over how I can balance my desire to contribute positively to this digital community with my entrenched reticence to share anything whatsoever about what I do, say, or think with anyone anywhere, at any time. (I always feel most comfortable in such departments when I can work on something impersonalβfor the greater good, you might say. My friends tell me I'm a good Tarologist, for instance, but I find auto-tarology impossibly boring.)

Beautiful post - although I'm holding you responsible for my newfound urge to take a swing/swat at asterisks.... ;-)
I really enjoyed reading this post. It's so well written. I was intrigued when you mentioned poetry, but I don't know the poets you have mentioned. I can only hope that your project/s brings much needed mental peace to you. (I am looking for such projects myself - probably, I'll strat working on my immortality project)
I also really enjoyed visually imagining your golden hour walks. The world does look slightly better when it's gilded by dusky tint. I hope to see more of you in this place.
