Words That Don’t Exist

Words that popped into my head while writing or playing word games, and meanings I thought would work for them.

Aldure

The soothing unity of oneself with nature, and/or the emotion associated with said.

Apeiroscule

Countably infinite, or finite but unthinkably big, with the implication of smallness in comparison to something else.

Examples:

“Graham’s number is apeiroscule next to actual infinities.”
“The observable universe is apeiroscule.”

Loreft

Adjective, describing a creation -- a work of fiction, a worldbuilding project, etc. -- that is disappointingly lacking in backstory or lore.

Examples:

“This gacha game is too loreft for me, it’s a shameless cash grab.”
“I wish the Harry Potter franchise had stayed loreft of the world outside Magical Britain.”
“Your Flat Earth model is embarrassingly loreft.”

Luft

Noun: The state of rising or falling slowly, gently, thanks to one’s copious covering of feathers or fur.

Verb: To be or cause to be in the state of luft.

Paucimal

Any positional numbering system where the absolute value of the base is less than one.

Unmas

An unmas is the opposite of a holiday. It’s a day that shouldn’t be celebrated at all, not even for mundane reasons such as “I saw a cool bird outside today”. Woe betide the child born on an unmas.
