The taming of the puffer fish (alternatively, OpenBSD training)

Yesterday after a talk with a staff member of IRCNow[1], I joined their

training course about OpenBSD, and got a lil' box for said purpose. So

far i'm enjoying it while doing the lessons on the Bootcamp[2] which

I've been reading for a while now. I try not to force myself in doing

them, so I do those at my own pace. This blog post will be updated

accordingly to show my progress.

Day 1 (2022-06-23)

• Exploring the system before doing anything with it
• Reading some documentation about configuration files

Day 2 (2022-06-24)

• Installed vim(1) as I could barely get used to the default ones
• Setting up doas.conf(5)
• Setting up sshd_config(5) and disable password auth

Day 3 (2022-06-25)

• Installed mosh(1), it never hurts to have this
• Installed ngircd(1)
• Set up the subdomain I'll use for the training on FreeDNS
• Successfully attempted to run a daemon inside a chroot
• Ran a staging httpd(1) which sorta worked
